Article Publication Charges

Proceedings of Science and Nature Research (PSNR) is a fully open access journal. Publishing with PSNR involves an Article Processing Charge (APC), which supports the costs of editorial management, peer review coordination, typesetting, DOI registration, and long-term digital preservation. There is no charge to readers to access, download, or reuse published content.

Current APC

  • 2026: No Article Processing Charge (APC) applies. All submissions received and accepted during 2026 are published free of charge.
  • From 2027 onward: An APC of USD 30 (or INR 2,500) applies to accepted manuscripts.

When the APC Is Charged

The APC is payable only after a manuscript has been accepted for publication following peer review. There is no charge for submission, and no charge if a manuscript is declined at any stage. Authors are never asked for payment before an editorial decision has been made.

Waivers and Discounts

PSNR is committed to ensuring that the ability to pay is never a barrier to publishing sound research. A 20% discount on the standard APC is available to:

  • Members of the Society for Nature Conservation (SFNC);
  • Active reviewers of the journal, for a period following a completed review;
  • Corresponding authors affiliated with an institution in a low-income or lower-middle-income economy, as classified by the World Bank's current country income classification.

Requests for a discount or additional fee waiver should be made to the editorial office at the time of submission, stating the basis for the request. All requests are considered on their merits and are handled independently of the peer review process; editorial decisions are never influenced by an author's ability to pay, and reviewers and editors making a recommendation are not informed of an author's waiver request.

What the APC Covers

The APC contributes to the direct costs of publishing an article, including manuscript handling and editorial oversight, coordination of peer review, copyediting and typesetting, DOI registration and metadata deposit, and the journal's ongoing digital preservation arrangements (see Archiving & Preservation).

Payment

Instructions for payment will be provided to the corresponding author once a manuscript has been accepted, together with any applicable discount already agreed. Accepted methods of payment will be confirmed at that time.

Questions

If you have any questions about the APC, eligibility for a discount, or payment arrangements, please contact the editorial office at thesfnc26@gmail.com before submitting your manuscript.
