Data Availability

The Proceedings of Science and Nature Research encourages authors to make the data underlying the findings described in their manuscript fully available, except where this is restricted by legal, ethical, or conservation-sensitivity reasons.

A Data Availability Statement is required in every submission, describing how, and under what conditions, the data supporting the results can be accessed. This should include, where applicable, links to publicly archived datasets (for example in Dryad, Zenodo, GBIF, or a relevant institutional or national repository) with the associated DOI or accession number.

Sensitive Location Data

Given the nature of conservation research, authors working with the location of threatened, endangered, or commercially exploited species should exercise caution when disclosing precise geographic coordinates. Where full disclosure could increase the risk of poaching, habitat disturbance, or illegal collection, authors should generalize location data (for example, to a broader region) and state this redaction explicitly in the Data Availability Statement, together with the conditions under which the original data may be made available to qualified researchers (e.g., via the corresponding author, an institutional data custodian, or a relevant government authority).

Example Statements

  • "The datasets generated and analyzed during this study are available in the [repository name] repository, [DOI/persistent link]."
  • "Data are available from the corresponding author on reasonable request due to the conservation sensitivity of species location records."
  • "No new data were generated during this study. Data sharing is not applicable to this article."
